Bedouin Paths, an ethical tourism company based in London, is launching hiking tours in Sinai, Egypt in October 2007. A large percentage of the profits will go towards funding for English classes for Bedouin children and to develop the Wadi huts in the mountains. The hikes of seven, 10 or 14 days leave from the small town of Katreen and either pass through the Sinai desert to the coast or go into the mountains of Sinai and St Catherine. They are suitable for persons aged over 12 of various abilities and fitness levels. Tour prices start from £350, excluding flights but including food, drink, guides and accommodation.
