LD Lines has been given full approval from the Port of Dover to introduce a brand-new freight and passenger service from DOver to Boulogne in 2009. The new service is scheduled to begin from 1st July 2009 with four return sailings daily. The crossing time is 1 hour 45 minutes, and will make use of Boulogne’s new Ro Ro terminal. LD Lines will use the vessel Norman Spirit, which currently operates their Portsmouth – Le Havre service. This ship has capacity for 1850 passengers, 700 cars and 110 freight vehicles.
