Fred. Olsen Cruises has issued its first brochure of musical-themed cruises featuring every kind of musical entertainment from Classical, Big Bands and Opera to Rock and Roll, Jazz and Latin. The programme includes Balmoral's 12-night cruise around the British Isles which departs from Dover on October 24 2008 and costs from £875 per person. It features the Big Band Sound of Bill Tole’s Jimmy Dorsey 8, with comedy from Al “George Burns” Long and leading vocalist Lorri Hafer, who has toured with the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Prices lead in at £495 per person on Black Watch’s eight-night Iberia cruise departing Dover on November 23 2008 taking in La Rochelle, Bilbao, El Ferrol (Spain), Oporto and Cherbourg. The cruise features music from Classical Connections with a programme covering a wide range of musical styles from grand opera and operetta to songs from the musicals.
