Etihad: Launches expanded summer schedule |

Etihad Airways is to launch a new summer flying programme on March 30 2008 with an almost 50% increase in weekly flights on last year. The Abu Dhabi-based carrier will operate a total of 728 weekly flights this summer compared to 494 in the same season last year, with the launch of new services to Beijing in China on March 30 and Calicut in India in June among the highlights. Etihad’s strong network across the Middle East will be strengthened further this summer, with extra weekly services from Abu Dhabi to Amman (six flights at present to 10), Beirut (eight to 11) and Damascus (six to 10). Within Europe, flights to Dublin will increase from six flights a week to a daily service, also from March 30. Etihad operates 19 services a week from Heathrow and seven a week from Manchester to Abu Dhabi. It is currently offering a special fares of £422 from Manchester and £430 from Heathrow to Beijing. The offer is valid for bookings made by March 25 for travel between March 30 and June 30 2008. Airline information at www.etihadairways.com
